WORKSHOP
AI in Action
An executive workshop on adopting generative AI across finance, HR and operations, combining live demonstrations with controls designed in from the start.
GBS Experience · BPrO · May 2026 · Cartagena, Colombia

I presented the "AI in Action: Real Cases for Shared Services Centers / BYOD" workshop at GBS Experience by BPrO (Cartagena, 2026) for executive leaders from shared services organizations across the region.
The workshop was designed as a live demonstration, not a slide presentation. Using Claude and Codex, I showed how generative AI can become part of finance, HR and operations workflows without requiring every user to sit inside an engineering team.
Adoption with controls from the start
Generative AI can extend the capacity of business teams, but adoption depends on more than selecting a tool. It requires clear identities, access boundaries, available data and permitted actions for each role and process.
Cases and capabilities demonstrated
- AI-assisted finance insights: from scattered data to an actionable read, in minutes.
- HR and operations cases: repetitive and document-heavy tasks handled by assistants.
- A layered adoption approach —from corporate identity down to each role— so every area accesses only the capabilities it needs.
- Governance and security by design: protecting secrets, controlling access and constraining actions instead of handing over an interface without operational context.
From demonstration to adoption
The result was a practical framework for moving from an isolated proof of concept to responsible adoption: concrete use cases, proportionate controls and explicit responsibilities for each role and process.
The value of AI in business functions is not to replace judgment, but to reduce repetitive work and create more time for decisions, analysis and management.
